In May 2014 Cameron had the pleasure of meeting two of his idols, Jeff Smith and Kazu Kibuishi!

First, Cameron got to see Jeff Smith, the author/illustrator of the Bone series, draw for the audience! This was part of the children’s programming at the Toronto Comic Arts Festival (TCAF) presented by the Toronto Public Library.

Then, not only did Jeff Smith sign Cameron’s entire collection of Bone books, but he also signed Cameron’s t-shirt!

Later, Cameron got to see Kazu Kibuishi talk about creating his work, The Amulet series, and illustrate a picture for the audience.

And, Kazu Kibuishi and Jason Caffoe (Amulet’s colourist), signed his collection of Amulet books!

Not only did Jeff, Kazu and Jason sign ALL the books, but they doodled in some as well!

Thanks, Toronto Public Library, for a wonderful, magical day! We’ll be back next year!

Super Chipmunk and the Attack of the Wild Ferrets

One day Super Chipmunk was taking a stroll in the forest. Then, shocked, he saw a shadow.

“It was a ferret,” he said.

“Uh oh,” he whispered. “The ferrets with the strips on their tails are the wild ones.”

“Who said that?” said the ferret.

The ferret saw Super Chipmunk and slowly moved closer. “I am hungry,” said the ferret.

Super Chipmunk used Claw Power.

Now there was a whole army of wild ferrets.

So Super Chipmunk flew to find his friends: Ms. Macaw and Fantastic Frog.

Finally he found them.

“I need your help,” he said.

“With what?” said Fantastic Frog.

“I created a whole army of wild ferrets!” said Super Chipmunk.

“I’ll be perfect for the job,” said Ms. Macaw, “because I have sharp talons.”

“So will I,” said Fantastic Frog.

“How?” said Super Chipmunk.

“With my feet,” said Fantastic Frog. “I can hit them.”

So the three heroes went to the forest and found the ferrets and started to fight.

They tried and tried until Super Chipmunk saw a tiny speck. Then he explained it to his friends.

The friends nod in agreement.

So they went to destroy it.

“I cannot go any farther,” said Fantastic Frog.

“Why?” said Super Chipmunk.

“I am turning green,” said Fantastic Frog.

You guessed it. They destroyed it.

20 Years Later . . .

Sadly, Super Chipmunk died.

Ms. Macaw became Queen of the States.

Fantastic Frog got married.
